  • Osamu Hayashida, born in 1965 in Nagasaki, Japan, completed his undergraduate study and graduate study for his Master’s degree at Kyushu University in 1988 and 1990, respectively. He subsequently became research associate and received his Ph.D. degree in 1994 under the supervision of Professor Murakami in the Department of Organic Synthesis (now Department of Chemical Science and Technology), Faculty of Engineering at Kyushu University. In 1996, he was promoted an associate professor of the Institute for Fundamental Research of Organic Chemistry (now Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering), Kyushu University. In 2009, he moved to the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Fukuoka University as a full professor. From 2001 to 2002, he stayed at the Scripps Research Institute as visiting scientist. He had been a PRESTO investigator for 4 years (from 2004 to 2007), which is supported by Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency.
